Elizabeth - profile

Elizabeth G. Walker, BSW, MSW

Co-Owner

Eliza(Beth) Walker began her early professional background with an education in the field of business management. Although she was very successful, she realized it was not the career she enjoyed but the true fulfillment that came from the people she had met along the way. She earned an Associates of Applied Science in Human Services from the College of Southern Maryland. The opioid epidemic and the War Against Drugs plaguing our country furthered her educational motivation to become an agent of change by becoming a master level drug and alcohol clinician, as well as earning her Master of Social Work degree from Salisbury University. The social work field would encompass her passion in helping others to aspire to their true potential.

Eliza(Beth)’s experience includes working at Discovery Harbor Counseling Center since it’s opening in 2013. Her experience also includes individual, group and intensive outpatient counseling for drug and alcohol clients at a state funded clinic for substance use rehabilitation. She gained further experience while being employed at a long term inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, working with those individuals that have just been released from incarceration. She was able to fully utilize her social work education by helping these individuals not only return to their familial roles but to successfully re-integrate with society. Elizabeth also has experience in working with and counseling those individuals that have chosen a medication-assisted recovery program
